Momentum, Motivate, Mirror

It's Wednesday we are half way through the week. Welcome everybody out to our Wednesday Night Bible Study and Fellowship.

Colossians 3:17 (King James Version)

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

I was reading the other day about an article about a train. It said that a train going only 55 MPH can crash through 5-foot thick steel-reinforced concrete wall without stopping. Then it said if the train started at a stationary position and began to move, it could not even go through an inch thick block in front of the driving wheel.

The reason is momentum. The size of the problem is never the problem, it's the momentum. Without momentum, the tiny problem will hinder you, you won't be able to move forward, not one step. (just like the train - no momentum, not even an inch). With Momentum, the train could go through 5ft. of steel. With momentum in the Spirit (which is the help of the Holy Spirit) you can go through ANYTHING. Life's obstacles, seasons then there are test and trials - come and go. But with the Holy Spirit which is our Momentum you can gow through your 5ft of steel.

You increase your momentum in the Spirit with the Word of God. Romans 10:17 -Faith comes by hearing, and by hearing the Word of God. It's when we read and quote His word over and over that our faith is motivated and our momentum is increased.

Lastly we must never think we have arrived, but know there are greater opportunities for us to grow. We must look in the mirror or our life and see God's reflection in every area of our life.

James 1:23-25 (New Living Translation)

23 For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. 24 You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. 25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

Today, take the time and evaluate and see if momentum is working in your life. It's never the problem that's the problem, it's the momentum.

God Bless,

Pastor Mark
